Runners High
Putting our physical body in motion is one of the most pure meditative activities we can practice. There was a time when we relied purely on our physical stamina to survive. It is no surprise that our mental health is closely tied to our physical stamina.

The act of meditation only means that you are taking time for yourself to take a mental break. Some people choose to use that break to focus on a specific idea or thought, others sit by a fountain in a park or go mountain climbing.

Running is one of the most basic forms of exercise that can bring meditative and physiological benefits almost instantly. It allows you to turn inward while fully activating your body for a set period of time. It is a time to challenge yourself and a time to be alone.
Meditation is relative. Where one person considers running to be a grueling workout another can view as an opportunity for some alone time, time to think. Where one person sees a practice like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a class in self-defense, another might see it for its flow state benefits.

One person's pleasure is another person’s pain, but in the end if we’re all seeking peace and well-being, that is what truly matters. We can all come together behind that idea.
